ZeeBooks is the bookkeeping services provider for HorsePower Brands franchisees operating in the home service industry. Our clients range from roofing contractors to glass and electrical lighting installation companies.

As a Bookkeeper at ZeeBooks, you will play a crucial role as the personal bookkeeper for 15-20 small business owners. Your responsibilities will include categorizing expenses on bank and credit card accounts, recording revenue and cash receipts, as well as finalizing bi-weekly payroll for these clients.

Essential Functions:

  1. Categorize 50-150 bank and credit card transactions monthly.
  2. Enter accounts payable for large vendors.
  3. Record general ledger (GL) activity from clients' CRM (Customer Resource Management) software platforms.
  4. Reconcile merchant payments taken in the CRM.
  5. Perform bank account and credit card reconciliations.
  6. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  7. Understand industry-specific company activities to ensure consistent financial statements.
  8. Conduct final review of payroll through third-party applications.
  9. Effectively communicate with franchise owners via Microsoft Outlook and/or Teams.
  10. Proficiency in MS Teams and SharePoint is a plus.

Work Environment:

This position operates in an office environment and relies on Office 365 tools.

Position Type/Expected hours worked:

This is a full-time position, and the hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexible start/end times unless otherwise specified. Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance is required.

Requirements:

  1. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  2. Ability to organize and prioritize daily duties.
  3. Strong time management skills.
  4. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  5. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills.
  7. Willingness to seek help when all proposed solutions have been exhausted.
  8. Proficient in oral and written English communication.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Intermediate computer software skills, including Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook).
  11. Knowledge of NetSuite accounting software is a plus but not required.

Preferred Experience:

  1. Degree in Accounting or Finance.
